You can read the steps below to learn more about how to use the Kucoin platform to acquire COFI tokens:
Users can start depositing COFI to KuCoin January 29th, 2018 at 18:00 (UTC +8), and trading COFI on KuCoin January 29th, 2018 at 22:00 (UTC +8).
Step 1: Sign Up For Kucoin.com
Visit https://www.kucoin.com and sign up for an account. Just follow the prompts to set this up.
(Tip: We recommend using Google Authenticator and setting up 2-factor authentication as well).
Step 2: Deposit Bitcoin or Ethereum To Kucoin
The COFI token is paired with both BTC and ETH, so you can use either to get hold of it.
In the Kucoin “Assets” tab, navigate to Bitcoin/BTC or Ethereum/ETH and click “deposits”. Make sure you choose Ethereum or Bitcoin, and not one of the forks like Bitcoin Gold or Ethereum Classic.
From there, you’ll find the address you need to deposit to from wherever you currently have Bitcoin or Ethereum.
You can then use this address to send your Ethereum (or Bitcoin if you’re using a Bitcoin address) to the exchange.
Kucoin is not a FIAT exchange, so if you don’t have any Bitcoin or Ethereum and want to buy some with your local currency, such as USD, then you’ll likely want to use Coinbase, Bitpanda, or your local FIAT to crypto exchange.
Step 3: Trade Your BTC/ETH For COFI
Once your chosen cryptocurrency has arrived (ETH will arrive faster than BTC), you’ll want to click the “Markets” tab and then choose either the ETH or BTC market tab. You can then search for “COFI” or scroll down the list.
Somewhere on the list, you’ll see BTC/COFI or ETH/COFI.
Click on that pairing, and you’ll be taken to the trading screen.
Step 4: Place Your Trade
What you need to do now, is decide how much COFI you want to buy. The easiest way to place an order is to set the price to “Ask“, as that will match the lowest price someone is asking for.
Depending on how quickly the price is changing and how much volume there is, you may want to choose a price slightly higher than the Ask, in case the price rises well beyond that level before your order fills, and you end up missing out or having to place an even higher order later.
Once you’ve placed your order and it has filled, you will be the proud owner of COFI tokens!
You can either leave them on an exchange, or transfer them off it to any Ethereum address. COFI is an erc-20 token so is compatible with any Ethereum address. However, the wallet you use to access the address needs to support erc-20 tokens.
