WazirX and Koinex to Support the BiTorrent (BTT) Airdrop on the Tron (TRX) Network

The Tron (TRX) project received a boost this week when the two popular Indian cryptocurrency exchanges of Wirex and Koinex announced that they will be supporting the upcoming BitTorrent (BTT) airdrop.

Exact Date of the Air Drop Unknown

In the case of WazirX, the announcement was made via twitter and it also acknowledged that the exact date of the airdrop is currently unknown. The tweet on the 10th of Janaury, went on to announce the following:

We’ve got some big news for you, tribe! You must have read about the upcoming BitTorrent (BTT) token sale, and that Tron holders will receive BTT tokens in an airdrop. If and when it happens, we will support the #airdrop, and credit the same to $TRX holders on WazirX.

The Koinex exchange would also tweet its support of the future airdrop as follows:

Tron users, this one is for you guys!

We will support the upcoming Bittorrent[BTT] airdrop. Tron hodlers will get BTT tokens in the airdrop and the same will be credited to their Koin Wallets! Stay tuned for more exciting details! @Tronfoundation @justinsuntron

BitTorrent Team Cautions About Scams

Due to the fact that the exact date of the airdrop is unknown, the team at BitTorrent have warned investors not to fall for scams. They did so via their new BitTorrent Telegram Chat that has a pinned message stating the following.

[The BitTorrent] airdrop and token sale have not started yet. Be careful with scams.

Binance ‘to Support’ the Airdrop

Binance is yet to issue an official statement that it will support the airdrop, but its CEO, Changpeng Zhao, suggested that it is only natural for the exchange to support it. He made the statement when replying to a tweet asking him if the exchange would support that future BTT airdrop. His response and tweet can be found below.

More on the BitTorrent Token of BTT

The token will be a TRC10 token on the Tron blockchain and is meant to propel the file sharing economy on BitTorrent. BTT will be a general purpose mechanism for transacting in computer resources on the BitTorrent network. It will also be divisible to allow for low value transactions to still operate.

BitTorrent Inc. will also deploy an ‘on-chain/off-chain exchange’ to allow for the easy transfer of the tokens between a high performance private ledger and the public TRON Blockchain. More on how the BTT token will work can be found in the project’s whitepaper.
